About us

Our vision
We provide clean and renewable geothermal energy, while supporting local job creation and reducing the load on the energy distribution system.
Our mission
Varmaorka develops and operates sustainable, small-scale geothermal energy sources, in close cooperation with the local communities in Iceland.
UN Global Sustainability Goals
Varmaorka's vision aspires to the UN Global Sustainability Goals
Affordable and clean energy
Varmaorka will produce geothermal electricity and heat, which is a clean, reliable, renewable and sustainable form of energy.
Decent work and economic growth
Varmaorka will provide jobs for people with higher education during the development period. Varmaorka’s projects will promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth thanks to greater access of energy.
Industry, innovation and infrastructure
The development of new geothermal projects will help foster and innovate the industrial sector at local and international level. New key infrastructure will be developed for local communities and support involvement of new partnerships and job creation.
Sustainable cities and communities
The production of energy in the local area makes communities more resilient and sustainable. This avoids relying on energy from faraway locations and prevents being dependent on fluctuating market prices. This will also reduce the load on the national electricity distribution system, promoting local networks.
Our team has diverse experience and know-how which is useful in Varmaorka’s projects
